1510–1512 PACIFIC AVENUE

Small building.
Big SF energy.

Two addresses. One very good place to be. Welcome to The Dupe—a little slice of San Francisco with an outsized sense of self.

Excellent taste in cities since 1922.

01 / THE PLACE

An original.
With a funny name.

Some buildings have a concierge.
This one has a point of view.

01

The city is your living room.

Pacific Avenue for the home address. Polk Street for the wandering. Nob Hill for the scenery. The sort of place where “just going for a walk” becomes the whole afternoon.

02

Character comes standard.

A 1922 building with two residences and a century’s head start on personality. The tiled roof, the tall windows, the trees out front. Some things don’t need rebranding.

Coolest is a state of mind.

Is it the coolest place to live in San Francisco? We’ve considered the evidence, ignored our obvious bias, and decided: absolutely. The fog declined to comment.

02 / THE BACKSTORY

Before the
group chat,
there was
Pacific Avenue.

San Francisco has always known how to make an entrance. This archival view catches Pacific Avenue in 1906—well before The Dupe’s recorded 1922 construction.

The street has changed. The city’s talent for being entirely itself? Very much intact.

A LITTLE HILL ASSIST

Premium hill access.
Some assembly required.

Drag the cable car.
Give your calves the afternoon off.

Drag the car up or down the hill. Arrow keys work, too.

Your hill. Your rules. Mostly gravity’s.

AN IMAGINARY HILL. A VERY SAN FRANCISCO FEELING.

03 / A FEW GOOD RABBIT HOLES

Very local.
Mildly distracting.

Useful? Sometimes.
Extremely San Francisco? Always.

SOMEWHERE GOOD TO COME HOME TO.

Right here.
Very much here.
